About Me

Hello! My name is Harrison Blake-Goszyk. I am a rising second year Ph.D. student in Astrophysics at Vanderbilt, advised by Prof. Kelly Holley-Bockelmann. I received my B.S. in Astronomy and Physics from the Ohio State University in May 2024, advised by Prof. Christopher Hirata.

I'm like a galactic center weather forecaster, which means I research what types of compact objects (black holes, neutron stars, etc) will rain down into a galactic center, and what the storm they make will look like (trajectory modeling, QPEs, perturbation theory, beyond-GR physics, etc). I am a member of the LISA Consortium and the EMIT (Establishing Multi-messenger astronomy Inclusion Training) program.

Outside of work, I like writing historical/science fiction, longsword fighting, gymnastics, playing the cello, learning languages, reading, and cooking. You can check out more of the things listed here in the Notes page.
